I’ve wanted to be a hairstylist for as long as I can remember. I remember sitting on my father’s shoulder’s and putting barrettes in his hair, so that he would look pretty. I also loved going to the hair salon with my mom; the hairstyles, the hair colors, the beauty, I enjoyed it all. I still remember the day I received my first hair salon play set; I would walk around in my bright red cowgirl boots, and a holster around my waist carrying my toy blow dryer and scissors, pretend styling everyone’s hair. My true ambition developed as a teenager, I was always the go to girl with my family and friends for hair and make up.

My passion for hair was undeniable, and as soon as I graduated high school I could not wait to enroll into cosmetology school. The minute I put a pair of shears in my hand, it was all over, I knew that this was my calling. I attended Pivot Point Academy in Bloomingdale, IL., where I learned from some of the most knowledgeable teachers. I was so excited to graduate and begin my career.

I have been in the hair industry for almost eight years now. My career started and Zazu Salon and Day Spa in Naperville, IL., where I was employed for three years. I underwent Zazu’s extensive training program, while assisting the top stylist there. They taught me advanced cutting, styling and coloring techniques. I sped through their training program and quickly became a stylist.

I’ve been a stylist at Niki Moon Salon for the past 3 years. It is the best feeling in the world when you not only love what you do, but also love the people and the place that you work at. My knowledge continues to grow everyday. Whether it’s attending classes at the salon, traveling to hair conventions, or researching hair trends on social media, I am constantly finding new ways to learn and grow in this industry. Everyday that I come to work my goal is to ensure that everyone who sits in my chair leaves feeling happy and beautiful.
