How to shampoo your extensions

Before showering, make sure to detangle your hair.

Proceed to wash your hair with a moisturizing shampoo. Avoid massaging your scalp too vigorously around the keratin bonds, as this can cause them to tangle around each other and form a large knot.

Rinse hair and use a moisturizing conditioner. Make sure to really apply the conditioner on the ends of your hair. It is best to avoid the bonds with a heavy conditioner.

After washing, towel blot your hair. Do not rub your hair with the towel; this will cause tangling and knotting.

We also recommend a leave-in conditioner for the ends. Your extensions are not receiving essential nutrients from your body like your natural hair, so it’s important to provide the extensions with moisturizing supplements. There are several leave-in conditioner options we can recommend for you at the salon.

How to dry your extensions

When drying your hair, it is best to start drying near the bond first with a medium heat (too high of a heat can loosen the bonds and cause them to slip).

It’s best to get the hair 80% dry before using a brush.

Remember to be careful not to tangle the hair while drying. Also remember the extension hair is devoid of natural nutrients, so it is more effected by high heats.

The hair extensions are all natural, so they can be curled or flat ironed just like your own natural hair.

How to sleep without problems

It is best to tie your hair back in either a loose ponytail or braid while sleeping. This will protect your hair from tangling overnight.

Extensions typically last 2-3 months. Then is best to switch them out for a new set.
